Punctuation

 This week in english we learnt punctuation and how to use it correctly.

This is my work.

6. At camp we sang “Daisy, Daisy” “ Oh! Susannah” and “Skip to my lou.”

The Cay

 1. They were on the cay for 48 days 

2. He rips a piece of his clothes, puts it in water and then onto Timothy's forehead

3. Phillip wants to do things on his own 

4. Because Phillip is blind so Timothy needs to teach him how to do everything again.

5. Because Phillip doesn't see Timothy as he did when he first meet him 

DO NOW- Calypso

 I can see palm trees on the sandy beach, blowing in the wind as the waves in the sea come crashing down. People playing drums and having a midnight party infront of a fire. People gathering around and singing their favourite songs. And people enjoying their life's in general.

Pita pockets

 On Friday in cooking class we made pita pockets. We did a doc post about hygiene and safety and write about things that we needed to know before we sytart cooking. It was delicious because we had perfect ingrediants such as, Tomato, lettuce, Ham, and many more. 

Pita Pockets

Ingredients:

• 1 pita casing per person

• Lettuce

• Cheese

• Tomato

• Grated carrot

• ¼ onions

• 1t oil

• Sauces – tomato, bbq, mayo, hummus, chilli

• 1 slice of ham

Method:

1. Sauté the onions together in a pan with oil, high-med heat

2. Chop and grate the vegetables you require

3. Place pita pockets in microwave for 20 seconds

4. Cut open the pita pocket along the crease

5. Stuff pita pockets with required fillings

Pontoon

Why were they created? they were created for army soldiers to get across the water. 

They were built with wooden planks that can slide in and out so you can keep going.

How are they reuseable? You can use them over and over again because you can take all the wooden planks out of place and you can keep building on to it.

Schooner

 The schooner boat has a long and skinny base with 4 sails to direct the boat. the base of the boat is brown with the sails being white. If i was riding on that boat it would likely be a stable ride because of the way the base is made with curves to keep the boat and water evened out. i would see the sea life around me and also crashing waves. And the sails could also be good if you want to know which way the wind is blowing so you can go diaganl to the wind so the boat doesn't tip.

U-boats

 U- boats were used in both world wars.

U- boat sank killing 272 people including 27 americans.

ICT Reflection

Today I will be talking about my overview on ICT, and I'll be telling you what I have learned during term 1 & 2.

This term in ICT I have learned many of things, many shortcuts and many other features that Microsoft gives us. For the first few weeks we had been learning how to use Word. We used Microsoft Word, which is literally google docs but Microsoft version. After we finished with Microsoft word, we moved on to use publisher, which is a tool that is used to create images, or create something productive. We also learnt about Cyber-safety, which we went on to play games on a website that taught us how to be safe while on the internet, or just keeping yourself safe by not giving any personal information to anyone on the internet and to avoid internet predators. 

We also did file management we're we learnt how to drop files in folders and file naming as well as creating different folders and saving our work to the desktop then drop it into our google docs to make sure we knew where it was. We also started Typing.com and Nitro type to help boost our typing speed and to learn how to type without looking at the keyboard. We would use Publisher to make or create pictures such as Boats, tv and flower pots with a flower.

We made a Disney Wonderland poster we're we would make a choice to change the font of the title and the layout. And Changing the background.

This term and last term ICT was good because I learnt how to do many and many things from creating pictures, making templates, calendars, and heaps of other things.

               

 Matariki should be a public holiday?. I think that matariki should be a public holiday so that people can celebrate that day and spend the day with family members and to celebrate the meaning. Many people choose to stay home on this day. Matariki is a time when maori celebrate that time of the year so i guess it would make sense if we just had one day off to celebrate that day/s.

 English is the most important subject to learn in school? I think that every school in the world should have English as a compulsory subject because everybody in the world should be able to learn English.  

Which mixture dissolved faster

Which one had the sugar dissolve the fastest?. Warm or hot water dissolved the sugar faster because it was warm and could easily dissolve it.

DO NOW WEEK 4

 Schools should have more mufti days. I disagree that schools should have more mufti days because we as kids wear our uniforms with pride and represent our school with the school uniform. 

Pablo Escobar

  5 qualities leaderships Pablo Escobar:

- Had many followers 

- Famous drug lord

- 'The king of cocaine'

- Escaped prison many times.

I think that he wasn't a good leader because he escaped prison many of times and kept repeating it.

Week 3 DO NOW

 Cats are better than dogs? i think that both animals are good because an animal is an animal but it might not be the animal that they don't like. It could also be the different types of breeds. Because i think that both animals are good. But sometimes could be aggressive at some stages. In my opinion i like dogs better because their more interactive with humans, but so can cats if you play with them or train them. Both dogs and cats are loveable animals.

Do now week 2

 School uniforms should not be mandatory. I think we should be wearing school uniform because it shows what school you go to and if there was an emergency, they would know who to contact. Uniform should be worn at every school because the uniform represents the school you come from and wearing the school uniform with pride. 

Vocabulary

Achievement  - Is when you have completed something that you have worked to complete.

Aspire/aspiration - Working towards something that you want to achieve.

Inspire/inspiration - Help or encourage someone to do something challenging/ or what they don't want to do.

Adaptable - Means to be able to keep going if things to go how it was meant to.

Persistence - Something that has been around for a long time.

Resourceful - Ability to get around difficult outcomes.

Resilience - It to keep going even if things get hard.

Resolute - Means to keep going and never give up.

Perseverance - Having a plan and sticking to it.

Commitment - To commit in doing something.

Strategy - Making a plan to do something.

Goal - Working your way up to completion.

Barrier - An object of some sort to keep anything passing through.

Attribute - Such as a object used for identification.

Persuasive - Making someone believe in something.

Insightful - Understanding what someone has said.

Integrity - Is being honest.

Tenacious -  A type of person who never gives up.

Respect - Being polite and understanding someone's problems.

 Elephants are the greatest animal of time. I disagree because there is other animals.

Week 1

 Should school holidays be 1 week long, i disagree. I think that the school holidays should stay 2 weeks long because 1 week is too short and 3 weeks is a bit too long. So i think that 2 weeks of school holidays is the perfect amount of time off school so we're not off school for too long, but also get a good enough break. I think that if we have to many weeks off school, kids will then not want to go back to school and will most likely complain about it. Then that's when kids will start being more aggressive to there pairs and will not complete any work.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople

  In classed we watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople. It was directed by Taika Waititi and was created in 2016. Many famous people were in this film, such as Stan walker, Rhys Darby, Troy Kingi and more. This film was about a 13 year old boy who was an unfit kid that was put in a foster home. Since his aunty Bella suddenly passes away, he is left with his uncle Hec. What I liked about the film? I liked when Ricky was driving crumpy( Truck) through all the bushes and trying to dodge all the police coming after them. How much do I rate it? I rate this movie 9 out of 10 because I thinks it's really good, but at the time they should of produced more and more of the movie because I reckon that if they kept the storyline going then the movie would of finished off with a great ending.  

Ricky and Bella

Hello reader today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Hunt for the wilder people. I did a SEXXXY paragraph about it but I did more. I made a slide and Here is what I did. 

I learnt to how to write the SEXXXY paragraph, this helped my writing because it showed me how to write and use punctuations. My favourite part of the film was watching the movie.

Ricky baker, the protagonist of Hunt for the Wilder-people, is a 13 year old boy that came from a dark background. ricky is a large sized kid. Ricky has also been found guilty for many charges that include, stealing, breaking stuff, spitting, and setting objects on fire. He ended up going into a foster home where he meet a lady named Bella ( auntie) and Hec( uncle ). Ricky would always sneak out at night times or early in the morning but would be found by his auntie. Since Bella passes away, Ricky is no longer allowed to stay in the family. 

Child welfare and the police come to take Ricky baker, but he is not there when they come to get him, now Ricky is on the run and is very worried that he will be caught and taken to another foster home. At the end of the story Ricky and Hec end up getting caught by the police and Ricky goes to another foster family, and Hec goes to jail. Ricky ends up loving his new foster family and then Ricky went to see Hec after he got out of jail. Then Ricky and Hec decide that they want to go back out into the wild to face some more adventures.

Writing

 Hi, today I'll be giving you some information about the 2016 film Hunt for the Wilder-people.

At the beginning of the film Hunt for the Wilderpeople, the protagonist Ricky Baker moved into a foster home. Ricky met Hec but they did not get along. Ricky tries to help out but Hec doesn’t want anything to do with Ricky. Ricky decides to call Hec uncle, but Hec does not like that. Ricky and hec are on the run from child welfare and the police. By the end of the film, Ricky and Hec’s relationship has grown stronger and stronger over time.
